LWL Museum Henrichshütte

An absolutely top location!!!

This immense industrial museum is the perfect setting for the exhibition of the painting series Ikarus will nicht brennen. The pictures might have been painted for this monument to steelmaking. The historic blowing-engine hall, with its perfect mixture of museum setting and dark industrial character, works superbly as a contrast to the bright, fiery colours. Outside, with the blast furnace in the background, the motif simply cannot be bettered.

*As a young artist, growing up in Bochum and Stiepel, I dreamed of exhibiting my pictures at the Henrichshütte. Now it has happened. I feel strongly connected to the museum and I am as pleased as a child at Christmas. * tp
